Brands Sound Louder in China Complaints of Ten Foreign Mobile Phone

Latest statistics from China Consumers' Association (CCA) show that Motorola, Nokia, Erricsson, Samsung, Siemens, Philips, the six famous foreign mobile phone brands top the complaint cases sued by Chinese consumers.

CCA made a statistics on such complaints Beijing, Shanghai, Beijing, chongging, totaling in 19 cities. The statistics dealt with 1,567 cases covering 24 brands foreign and domestic as with quality and follow-up service problems. Of the aforesaid complaints the six foreign brands occupied 1,494 of them, accounting for 95.34 percent.

According to the statistics, quality problems make up 42.88 percent including automatic shut-off, mainboard glitch, weak signal, screen display and other problems. Motorola received the most complaints and was accused of 35 kinds of malfunctions.

The statistics indicate that many mobile phone operators reneged on goods return as regulated by the Law of the People's Republic of china on the Protection of Consumers' Rights and Interests and the Law on Product Quality. A mobile phone user in Guangzhou went 18 times to the Erricsson center to get his T18 repaired, three times having its mainboard changed.

Cities suffered from most from the six brands are Dalian, Wuhan, Harbin, Zhengzhou and Beijing.

CCA has urged related departments to strengthen market supervision, and will give penalty for mobile phone manufacturers and sellers failing to bear legal responsibility on various pretexts..
